Athletes

If you’re an athlete trying to take the next step and become the best player you can be, come train with Sparta.  In strength and conditioning it takes what it takes.  Experts in the field no exactly what to do to help athletes get stronger, faster, and more flexible.  We know the way and we can show you.

Get an edge

If you are an athlete, regardless of your sport, you should be in a strength and conditioning program.  It is impossible to be the absolute best you can be in your sport without strength training.  Unfortunately, the fitness world has a lot of bad information out there.  Some coaches don’t have a specific strength and conditioning plan for their teams and even worse, some coaches tell their players it will make them stiff or hurt their specific sport skill.  This is 100% incorrect.  Gain an edge and join our Sparta team that will make sure you get the proper plan, technique, and programming for you and your sport.

Speed

To be a great athlete strength is not the only variable.  Linear speed and the ability to change direction at top speeds is crucial to success.  Strength training will help with speed, balance, and change of direction but it should also be just a part of the programming.  Flexibility and mobility must be part of the plan as well.  And to get faster, you have to SPRINT.  Running to run isn’t beneficial.  How are you running? What is your rest time?  All of this matter based on your goal.  Let Sparta trainers put a plan together to build the total athlete.

Recovery

Once you have the correct plan and you're working hard, there are still other variables to make sure you you are at your best.  Food and sleep are just as important.  The body can’t gain muscle or lose fat properly if you don’t eat and drink the right foods.  It’s one of the biggest mistakes athletes make.  We will make sure you better understand the importance of certain foods and the foods to absolutely avoid.  Sleep is also a determining factor in athlete development.  The body requires sleep to reach its potential.  Our bodies can’t grow properly, think properly, or fight disease properly if we do not get adequate sleep.

Discipline
&
character

At Sparta we believe the weight room builds character.  The weight room does not lie.  You can’t hide from pain and accountability.  Working out and conditioning is hard.  And we believe we need more hard in our society.  Our programs won’t just build strength and conditioning.  It takes discipline, character, consistency and great work ethic to get through our programs for athletes.  It won’t just benefit them on their playing field.  Our programs will benefit them for years to come as employees, spouses, and parents.  One of the most important qualities to have in this world is the ability to deal with adversity.  Overcoming pain and difficulty and having a mental toughness to deal with adverse situations is a valuable asset.  Our program helps build that for our athletes.
